The
Ornamental Horticulture department prides itself on having a very
fine program for students planning to enter the field of horticulture
and for people already working in the Industry who wish to expand
and update their horticultural knowledge.
Most classes are offered during convenient evening hours, allowing
working students to study for a new career, and for those with jobs
in the field to upgrade their skills.
Courses have been designed so that students may specialize in areas
such as landscape design, landscape maintenance, interior plantscaping,
pest and disease control, and nursery operation. Course content
is relevant, up-to-date, meets current industry standards, and has
been developed with input from experts in the horticultural industry.
Students may choose to take one or two classes, or take the required
courses for a certificate of achievement in Ornamental Horticulture.
Completion of the certificate program satisfies the major requirement
for an associate in arts degree. |
